I love this album, I have listened to In Flames since the online nerd days of TFC. Maybe some will know what I mean. I hope they keep this pace going. Again love it!

It’s definitely different, but I feel like their evolution has been good (except Siren Charms). Is it as hard as past albums, of course not. It is still very good though.

While it sounds more like they are trying to return to their old selves a little, there is no heart or soul in the music. The songs sound like little effort was put into writing them and are quite boring. Anders still cannot sing, yet he insists on doing it more and more. Bands I listen to with a similar style of music produce much better melodies and hooks whereas In Flames appears to stay away from them. Songwriting and musicianship are disappearing. The revolving door of band members has caught up with the band. Jesper left and so did the In Flames from years ago. In Flames was one of the best in their day, but their days of being awesome are in the past. I have been a fan for around 20 years, but it is time for me to move on.
  • Come Clarity 2.0

Come Clarity and Soundtrack were my top albums next to Clayman - and this album embodies all of those. I enjoyed Battles in my own way but knew it was an experimental album. They have steered from the super electronic backing tracks and brought back nasty melodic guitars and head banging riffs. Love it.
  • Another solid album

I’ve been in the minority in In Flames compared to the long time fans. I’ve been a huge fan of their work starting with SOAPF through I, the Mask. I know this era is considered by the long time fans and their weak point, but I really have enjoyed these albums. Stand outs are, “Follow Me”, “Voices”, “Call My Name”, and “Stay With Me”. Wish the US version had the bonus track, “Not Alone”. I really liked that track.

I originally rated this a 4, but after a couple of weeks of listening to it, the album has really grown on me. These songs also sound great live. We all love their old melodeath sound, but it’s not coming back. Once I decided to listen to the album for what it is, I found that I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s not melodic death metal, but it’s really catchy, and easy to enjoy. My only gripe now, is the chanting kids on This is Our House. No more chanting kids! Please?
